Louis CK: Live at the Beacon Theater

The whole voice-command thing is something I don’t really get, in my opinion it’s the “3D” of mobile phones at the moment, but I think gesture control could be pretty great. Not exclusively gesture controlled but if I could leave my phone where it sits on my desk and just wave a hand at it for simple navigation through a calendar or news feed, that’d be (erm) handy.

I wonder if Microsoft will take the lead on this with their Kinect experience, or miss the ball again. Opportunity to be had I reckon. Even their Christmas Kinect ads seem to focus on talking to your television, in a forced robotic voice, while I think gesturing is something I’d much rather do.

Well worth checking out the latest TWiT podcast for anyone interested in SOPA, PIPA, Internet censorship, piracy and copyright. Good heated debate.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I completely agree with +Leo Laporte. They have video or audio versions.

This is the way things should be released — and thankfully you needn't just buy it to prove a point! It is well worth a fiver . Funny stuff.

But I think it's pretty great that there's an artist I discovered purely through word-of-mouth, social media and YouTube just a few months ago, and now I have the opportunity to send $5 directly to the man himself in exchange for an hour of his creative work. What is it that Sony (etc.) do anymore?

It's been out a few hours and I've been keeping an eye on mentions of @louisck on Twitter. Seems a fairly consistent 10 tweets a minute in that stream from people saying "bought it". I reckon this gamble might pay off for him, and that'll be good to see.
